Cat in the Hat Rice Krispie Treats

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!! I have been having a lot of fun with my little ones celebrating Read Across America Week, which coincides with Dr. Seuss's birthday. We have been reading a ton of Seuss books this week, and my toddler really enjoyed The Cat in the Hat and all the trouble he made, LOL! So to celebrate this year, I made these super cute and funny Cat in the Hat Rice Krispie treats!

These are a great no-bake treat that kids will LOVE! My toddler was so excited about how these turned out.

Here is what you need to make these fun themed:

• Kellogs Rice Krispies Treats

• White and Red candy melts

• Large Marshmallows

  1. STEP ONE: Melt the white candy melts according to the directions on the package. I use a Chocomaker Candy Melter and absolutely LOVE it. I have found myself working with chocolate so much more now that I have it! Simply unwrap your rice krispie treat and dip in the melted white chocolate.

  2. STEP TWO: Cut a few rice krispie treats into horizontal strips to make the bottom of the hat. Dip in in the melted white chocolate and attach to the main rice krispie treat.

  3. STEP THREE: Attach the candy eyes by dipping in white chocolate and then draw the face. Dip the top of the marshmallow in the melted white chocolate and attach to the hat.

  4. STEP FOUR: Melt the red candy melts according to the directions on the package and place in a candy melt squeeze bottle and make red stripes on the rice krispie hat.

Of course, I had to design and draw a cute tag to go with these! Get the digital download below and send to school! Let dry and cool completely before packaging. I tied a red ribbon at the bottom of the treat bag to look like his bowtie! HOW CUTE!

If you make these, I would love to see your creations!

HAPPY DR. SEUSS WEEK!!!!
