Cookies & Scream Spider Cupcakes

I scream, you scream, we all scream for cookies & cream! I just can't resist a cute pun or oreos! These oreo spider cupcakes are more cute than creepy and absolutely delicious! Just add about 1 1/2 cup of crushed oreos to my rich, smooth buttercream recipe and you will not regret it.

I topped the buttercream with a Halloween Oreo and piped the legs with a small round tip. Add candy eyes to these cuties and you're done! These are a huge hit with kids (and adults too, let's be honest!)

All you need to make Cookies and Scream Spider cupcakes are:

  1. Prepare the white cake mix according to the instruction on the box and add about 1/2-1 cup of finely crushed oreos. I recommend using a food processor to get them super fine.

  2. Prepare my buttercream according to the directions and once completed fold in about 1 and 1/2 cup of crushed oreos.

  3. Pipe your buttercream on the cupcake using a piping bag and tip (I used Ateco 860). Place your oreo on top and pipe the legs with black tinted buttercream using a small round tip.

  4. Use edible glue to secure the candy eyeballs on the oreo. You can also use frosting but sometimes that makes the candy eyes bleed, so I prefer edible glue.

I wish real spiders were this cute, LOL!
