Easy Earth Day Sugar Cookies

Celebrate Earth Day each year on April 22 by making these fun and delicious sugar cookies, made with all organic ingredients!

Choosing organic is better for you and the planet! Organic farming is better for the environment because it practices less pollution, soil erosion and energy.


These cookies are super easy to make and a great Earth Day activity to make with kids while teaching them about how to make our planet a better place!


INGREDIENTS


1/2 cup salted organic butter

1 cup organic granulated cane sugar

1 large organic egg

2 teaspoons organic baking powder

2 cups all purpose organic flour ( 1 teaspoon)

1 teaspoon organic vanilla


INSTRUCTIONS


Step 1: Preheat the oven too 375* and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper set aside. Prepare a bowl of granulated sugar and set

aside.


Step 2: Using a stand up mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and blend well.


Step 3: Add egg and mix well.


Step 4: Sift together the baking powder and flour in a separate bowl.

Step 5: Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until just combined, do not over mix!


Step 6: Separate the dough into two bowls. Color one bowl with blue gel color and the other green gel color and mix (do not over mix the dough)

Step 7: Pinch blue and green dough alternating to make a make 1 inch balls and roll in the bowl of sugar. Place two inches a part on the baking sheet. By


Step 7: Bake for 8-10 minutes.
