Edible Craft: Apple Tree Cookies

Did you know that in the United States October is National Apple Month? It also happens to be National M&M Day, so, I decided an edible craft was on the to-do list! This is a super easy and fun activity to do with your kids. We are in the middle of another 9 weeks of virtual learning and we have been learning all about apples and fall, so, this fit into our lesson plan perfectly.

You need for this craft:

Betty Crocker Cupcake Icing in Meadow Green

Tree Cookie Cutter

The Betty Crocker Cupcake Icing is the perfect choice for this craft because it is so easy to use, plus, keeps clean up and prep to a minimum. The icing is already colored, awesome! You just pop on the star tip and you are ready to get started, double awesome! No bags or extra mess is truly music to my ears.

Not only are these chocolate sugar cookie delicious, they are absolutely adorable! This cookie tastes like a brownie, but in delicious soft, chewy sugar cookie cut-out form! There's nothing quite like a crisp, sweet, crunchy apple and that is worth celebrating! Of course, make sure you have a bowl of apple slices around to snack on as you craft and talk about your favorite apple variety.

Here is a cute apple facts video to watch while you are working on your edible craft cookies!
