Patriotic Cupcake Cones

Let me see your red, white, and blue! Here are some easy summertime inspired patriotic cupcake cones for your Fourth of July celebration. They look like ice-cream cones but take a big bite, and you'll get creamy vanilla buttercream and delicious fluffy cake!

Sparkling fireworks, yummy cookouts, and time spent outdoors mean it is that time of year again – The 4th of July! Add these All-American cupcake cones to your Independence Day menu this year for an easy and impressive sweet treat!

Here's what you need:

- 1 Box White Cake Mix

- 1 Box Cake Cones

- Red and Blue gel coloring

- Frosting (Try my homemade vanilla buttercream recipe)

- Patriotic Sprinkles


Making the multi-colored swirl is super simple. Don't be intimated!


Here's what you need to make a multi-colored frosting swirl:

-Piping bags

-Press n' seal

-Gel coloring

-1M tip

  1. Prepare a muffin/cupcake baking pan by placing the ice cream cones directly in the cavities.

  2. Simply place make the cake mix according to the directions on the box and separate batter into three separate bowls.

  3. Color batter red and blue, leaving one bowl white.

  4. Layer the batter in the cones, filling just above the interior cone line.

  5. Bake on 350 for about 15-16 minutes.



Next, while the cupcakes cool completely, make the frosting

  1. Make the frosting according the directions and separate into three separate bowls.

  2. Color two bowls red and blue, leaving one bowl white.

  3. Place each frosting in large piping bags.

  4. Next, cut the tips and lay out a sheet of press and seal. Pipe three color strips and twist up, cut the tip and place in a separate piping bag fitted with a 1M.

  5. Pipe and decorate! Sprinkle away!

These will be so, so cute on your celebration table!
